Beacon is designed to support students as they work independently, but parents can still play an important role by checking in, talking about what their child is learning, and helping decide when more support is needed.
As students become more comfortable using Beacon, they may be able to work through everyday homework questions and practice on their own. That independence can be a valuable part of building confidence.
Parents do not need to supervise every interaction, but occasional check-ins can help keep the focus on learning. Asking what the student worked on or what they found challenging can open useful conversations.
If a student is consistently frustrated, avoiding the work, or struggling with the same topic, that can be a sign that more personalized help from a teacher or tutor would be useful.
