Can Beacon help my child become more independent with homework?

Beacon gives students another place to turn before immediately asking someone else for the answer. Over time, working through questions and next steps can help them become more comfortable solving problems independently.

That does not mean students should never ask an adult for help. The goal is to give them another strategy for what to do when they encounter something difficult.

Instead of stopping at “I don’t know,” students can practice identifying where they are confused, asking a question, and working through the explanation.

Those habits can help students take greater ownership of their learning and feel more confident facing challenging work on their own.
